Only moved about 50 miles today. Didn't want to get caught up in the Myrtle Beach weekend mess. Some of the campgrounds around there are huge with several thousand sites. Not the type of place that we enjoy staying at.
We're off the road for the weekend at Contentnea Creekside campground in Grifton, NC. $10 a night for full hookups in this city park can't be beat in my opinion. So far there's only 1 other unit here. Don't expect any more as Grifton is off the beaten path. The local police department runs it and they've already made the rounds since we've arrived.
Passed an interesting place on the way here. Just outside of Greenville there's a VOA (Voice of America) transmitting station named after Edward R Murrow. It has huge antennas and something like 500 megawatts of transmitting power. It uses shortwave to transmit news and music around the world, probably a fair share of propaganda also.

Anyway, we're just kicking back until Sunday to avoid weekend campers at popular locations.
Saw the 1st cypress tree with Spanish moss hanging from the branches today, here at the campground.
Things to remember from here: hawks, large loblolly pines, police presense, 2 plus inches of rain.
