Spending 2 nights at Cape Hatteras National Seashore. We're at Hatteras Sands Campground in Hatteras.
In the 50 miles that we drove down the outer banks we only caught 1 small glimpse of the Atlantic while crossing a bridge, it's obscured by the dunes, so tomorrow we'll take the car to visit some access points.

8/16 Did some beach combing today, at least as long as the sun and heat would allow. There were more people along the beach than I was expecting. Perhaps further from the villages it would have been more deserted. Heading back inland tomorrow.
Life is good!
Dune buggies! Ya, that would be fun!!! Try it!
ReplyDeleteGuess we didn't look hard enough. Never noticed any on the beaches today. Didn't look that hard though. Deedee really has a hard time coping with the heat with the compression pantyhose and circaid for her lymphadema. Lots of activities available if you have the ambition and money for it. Parasailing, horseback riding on the beach and beau coup gift stores. Probably only a couple of grocery stores though. I guess most everyone dines out. There doesn't appear to be many residents, but lots of timeshares and rentals are for sale or rent.
DeleteGreat pics! The beach looks good on you guys. I bet the compression pantyhose would b almost unbearable in the heat. Looking forward to the next adventure😎
DeleteThank you. The dogs pooped out on us on the walk from the parking lot to the beach too.The heat, humidity and walking in the soft sand was too much for them. We ended up carrying them til we reached the hard sand at waters edge. Not much on the agenda for Wednesday. We're going back to Farm Country campground that we were at before Hatteras. Nice clean and quiet place to regroup.
