We've been here in Austin since last Thursday. Trying to visit as many family and friends as possible while in the area. it's been great to get a chance to meet up in person after a few years of only talking on the phone. We really notice the humidity after living in the relatively dry eastern Washington area. We're staying at a real neat campground that's owned and operated by a person that owns the farm property that it's located on just north of Oakland, MN. It's called Oakwoods Trails Campground. It's about a half mile down a gravel lane abutting his fields of corn and soybeans. The campground is in an old oak grove and there's tons of space between each campsite so we feel like we have a lot of privacy. In addition, there is only 1 other active camping unit in the park so it's pretty much like being alone out here. Just awesome.
I've committed to stay here until Monday the 11th of July and then we're driving south a hundred miles or so to the Cedar Falls / Waterloo Iowa area to visit relatives around there. We're considering either Black Hawk Park or Deerwood Park based on the recommendation of a relative. We'll probably stay there until Monday the 18th of July before heading for parts unknown. Hope to meet up with many of the Haskin family while there. Looking forward to seeing you soon.

ReplyDeleteSo when Grant and I pulled into the condo we decided to drop our luggage and go to the beach. The guy that watches the place started the car the day b4 and had to jump it and then drove it 10 miles. Checked later and fine. Well, it didn't start when I tried. Was just going to have the neighbor lady jump me when our guy pulled up. To make a long story short I needed to go get a new battery and tomorrow am having a new alternator put in. Some things just need to be taken care of. We r having a good time though. It is hot and humid but I know it's like that a lot of places. Lot of sting rays when I walked the beach this morning. Small ones.

Bummer on the car problems. Hope you can get them dealt with without a lot of hassle. Enjoy the time with Grant. Special times for you and him. We're feeling the humidity here in Cedar Falls also. Last I looked it was 89 degrees and the water was really streaming out of the air conditioner.
