8/11 Chicahominy, VA

On the James River about 17 miles from Jamestown settlement. Jamestown is on our agenda. Lots of history in  this part of the part of the country.
Hollywood cemetery in Richmond is the final resting place of 2 Presidents,  James Monroe and John Tyler along with Jefferson Davis, J.E.B. Stuart, George Pickett and 26 other Confederate generals.
We're expecting temps in the Upper 90s for the next few days. A couple of nights ago the MH electrical plug shorted out due to a worn socket on the camp power panel. It melted a wire to an adjacent one so luckily we were able to repair the plug by lantern light and move to a different site. It would have been an unbearably hot night it couldn't have been repaired.  I plan on purchasing a spare at the earliest convenience.

Update 8/13. Took in Jamestown yesterday. The National Park Service allows pets in the park. It was great taking Jake and Paris along in the park. It was a hot day and we were always looking for shady areas as we walked through.
