7/28 Palmyra, NY

On standown at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Palmyra, NY just east of Rochester and north of the finger lake area. Time to get off the road for a while and catch up with some chores and such.  I was long overdo for a haircut and beard trim. In fact yesterday, the clerk at Wegmans, a local grocery chain, asked for ID when I purchased some alcohol. Evidently I looked so much different than my license that he called over a manager to approve it. Didn't have any problem getting into Canada or back into the US but that clerk wasn't having any one suspicious getting past him buying it regardless if his hair and beard are white. The MH and car hadn't been washed since Minnesota so I'm working on them today. Deedee is cleaning the inside of the MH and clipping 1 of the dogs as well as me.

The finger lake area is noted for it's wine production so of course it was obligatory to sample and partake in the local wares.  I fell asleep before making this update last night.

The laptop decided to quit recognizing any mouse connected to it this morning and thanks to Windows 10 the touchpad never worked because Sony doesn't have drivers for it so I was left with no recourse but to reset Windows. That cured the mouse problem but all of our programs are gone and I don't have the disks with us to reinstall them. I was using MS Streets and Trips for our navigation program at times so I guess I'll take the old EEPC netbook out of retirement as Streets and Trips is loaded on it.

We did a little exploring today and found part of the Erie Canal just a few miles away. As I understand it, it's primarily used by pleasure craft now. It was a nice diversion to see such a relic.

    1. Yup, truth be told it is a welcome respite from driving. We need to slow down and do it more often.
