Friday 6/24
Only drove about 200 miles today. It was getting late in the afternoon and I didn't care to deal with the weekend crowds that I expected closer to Glacier Park. Logan State Park is in Montana on Middle Thompson lake, about midway between Libby, MT and Kalispell, MT. It was fairly windy and the new tires made it so much easier driving. Light rain off and on most of the way.
I noticed that most of the campers that are from this area had the hoods of their vehicles raised a bit. When I asked about it they said that if you dont, then pack rats will get in there and build nests. Better safe than sorry and when in Rome, do as the Romans and all that stuff, I thought it prudent to follow suit.
Hope to make it well past Glacier tomorrow (Saturday ). There's no cell coverage here and for most of the route today, with the exception of when we're near a town, so this won't go out until we get near a town on Saturday.
