Yesterdays drive was what I would call high dessert with a lot of sage and grasses. The land changed pretty dramatically once we hit the Colorado border to more crop land and larger trees. Crop was primarily hay from what we saw. Drove over the Rio Grande in Alamosa and it appears about the size of Turtle creek here.
Nice views out the windows at the campground, mountains on 2 sides. It's windy though. Neighbors awning was damaged from it a couple of days ago. Temps expected in the 30's tonight.
Really aware of the altitude it was 6500 to 8000 plus on the drive today and Alamosa is around 7500 feet. It's difficult to do much work without being out of breath.
There's tons of rabbits in this campground and it's chock full of rabbit droppings, of course the dogs think it's candy. Doves are prevalent and sit on top of the light poles and the cooing is driving Deedee bonkers, she said it sound like a weird owl. The doves are much larger than around Spokane.
Here are some pics from yesterday that I wasn't able to post because we didn't have any cell service.
We have reservations for the KOA in Moab for Friday night. I was thinking that finding sites would be easier at this time of the year, but a lot of places are still full on the weekends so it requires some extra planning on my part.

The housing in NM is so cool. Love it. Did DeeDee shop for silver or turquoise? This is such a pretty time to travel.
