Made it to the Atlantic today. Been raining off and on for a couple of days and the vehicles are getting pretty grubby looking because if it. We'll be spending 2 nights in this huge campground at Salisbury Beach State Reservation (484) campsites. It's about 50 miles north of Boston. Had some pretty hairy driving today trying to get in the proper lanes to make connections and toll booths on the turnpikes. Some drivers don't cut anyone any slack and take advantage of any gap that you leave at merge points cutting you off before you can get in. I'm pretty surprised someone didn't run into us trying to force their way into our lane. It was a nice drive earlier in the morning when we on Vermont and New Hampshire state highways. Traffic on those roads was well behaved for the most part and the drive was quite picturesque. Lots of real old buildings to look at along the way with rolling hills and forest.
Deedee put a beef roast in the crock-pot before we started out this morning so we had a nice meal ready for us when we stopped driving for the day. It's torture having to smell it cooking all day though.
We'll drive up into the lower part of Maine with the car tomorrow for a day trip and then on Wednesday head south and try to avoid turnpikes and large towns where possible.
